Tongariro National Park

This National Park is the home of several active volcanoes. Tongariro is New Zealand's first national park and was a gift from the Maori to the nation.

We only had time to watch the sunset. The setting sun produced some interesting effects in the surrounding clouds and the volcano's steam plume. I believe this volcano is Mount Tongariro, but it might be its neighbor Mount Ngauruhoe. [1280x960]
